THE ALL-UKRAINIAN COUNCIL OF CHURCHES AND RELIGIOUS ORGANISATIONS AS A UNIFYING CENTRE OF RELIGIOUS UNITY IN TIME OF WAR RUSSIA VS UKRAINE

Abstract

The article analyses the role of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organisations as an important factor of religious unity in Ukraine in times of war, preservation of interfaith peace in Ukraine and prevention of internal social contradictions in the religious sphere. The article presents factual material describing the main activities of the organisation (uniting the efforts of religious leaders of Ukraine and the world in opposing Russian aggression against Ukraine, volunteer activities, assistance to soldiers, IDPs, families of the victims, chaplaincy movement). The importance of the Council as an effective platform for dialogue between churches and the state, where every religious leader can express the concerns, problems and views of his or her denomination, is proved. It is emphasised that without interfaith unity within the country it is impossible to withstand the fight against the enemy, the Council of Churches plays and will play an important role in strengthening state sovereignty and territorial integrity of the state.
