Abstract

This article examines the key criteria and indicators of responsible policy in the European Union, which are used to assess the effectiveness of governance, respect for human rights and promotion of sustainable development. Emphasis is placed on democratic principles such as transparency, accountability and political participation, as well as the protection of fundamental rights of citizens, including the rights of refugees and migrants. Additionally, social policy, environmental sustainability and economic stability are analyzed as key aspects of modern EU policy. The article emphasizes the importance of meeting these criteria to ensure a balance between economic development, social equality and environmental responsibility in the face of global challenges. Attention is also focused on political mechanisms and tools that contribute to the implementation of responsible policy in the EU. An important aspect is the role of EU institutions in supporting good governance, in particular through the implementation of a system of supervision, monitoring and reporting, which helps monitor the implementation of common standards by EU member states. These mechanisms allow not only to ensure a high level of accountability and transparency, but also contribute to the coordination of policies between national governments to achieve common European goals. The impact of responsible policy on sustainable development and achieving the goals of the European Green Course is considered separately. Attention is paid to how the EU policy in the field of climate change, environmental protection and renewable energy meets the current challenges of the environmental crisis. Strategies for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, preserving biodiversity, and innovative technologies that contribute to environmentally friendly economic growth in Europe are analyzed. In conclusion, the article demonstrates that responsible policy in the EU is based on an integrated approach to solving social, economic and environmental issues, which allows for an effective response to global challenges. Responsible management, transparency of processes and active participation of citizens in political life are fundamental conditions for achieving sustainable development. These criteria not only ensure a high level of welfare in the EU, but also contribute to the creation of a model for other states that seek to follow a similar path.
