GOVERNMENT PORTAL AS A DATA SOURCE FOR DIGITAL RESEARCH

Abstract

The article explores the potential use of open data for forecasting and modeling political processes in Ukraine. The Government Portal is analyzed as a key platform for accessing open data. The main focus is on the structure, formats, and accessibility of the information open data providers must publish. Special attention is given to the activities of ministries as primary providers of open data, which has made it possible to identify the characteristics of their interaction, standardization issues, and prospects for the digitalization of public administration. In the modern world, open data plays a critically important role in the development of new technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and neural networks. High-quality and structured open data sets are necessary for building effective algorithms for analyzing and forecasting political processes. The use of API interfaces for dynamic access to open data creates new opportunities for analytics automation, increasing transparency, and improving the efficiency of government decision-making. The motivation for conducting this study was the lack of empirical research in political science, which often relies on theoretical generalizations and qualitative analysis without sufficient reliance on data. The absence of widespread use of quantitative methods and real data analysis complicates the objective assessment of public policy and its consequences. The study of open data, its structure, and accessibility allows for a step toward greater empirical substantiation of political processes, which will contribute to the formation of more transparent and accountable public policy. Thus, the standardization and improvement of open data accessibility will not only contribute to the development of innovative technologies and enhance the accountability of public institutions but will also open new opportunities for empirical research in political science.
