Abstract

The article draws attention to the formation of a common non-pecuniary and defense policy of the European Union. The author considered the main challenges of the Community, namely security threats on the eastern borders, the destabilization of the situation in Ukraine, the coming to power of Donald Trump in the USA, the situation with Brexit and the withdrawal of Great Britain from the EU. All this together strengthened the progress of the member states towards military cooperation and common defense capability. Two new initiatives in the industry have become relevant security and defense: Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO), European Defense Fund, etc.
