THE CONTRIBUTION OF POLITICAL SCIENCE TO THE EDUCATION OF CONTEMPORARY UKRAINE: ACHIEVEMENTS AND PROSPECTS OF THE CARPATHIAN REGION (IN COMMEMORATION OF THE 25TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE POLITICAL SCIENCE PROGRAM AT VASYL STEFANYK СARPATHIAN NATIONAL UNIVERSITY

Abstract

The article examines the functioning of the Department of Political Sciences at the Faculty of History, Political Science, and International Relations of the Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University as an educational and research hub that shapes students’ professional competencies and political culture. It analyzes the department’s educational strategies, research programs, and pedagogical practices, particularly their impact on the development of critical thinking, civic engagement, and an interdisciplinary approach to the study of political processes. Special attention is paid to the interconnection between scholarly research and the practical training of future political experts, the effectiveness of international cooperation, and the department’s role in consolidating democratic values and fostering civil society. Based on an analysis of publications, conferences, and faculty projects, it is concluded that the department functions not only as an educational structure but also as a strategic intellectual center that cultivates future leaders in the political, governmental, and media spheres of Ukraine, particularly in the Ivano-Frankivsk region.
