RELIGIOUS JOURNALISM IN THE DIGITAL AGE

Abstract

The work explores current issues and problems of religious journalism in the digital age. It examines the cooperation between the Church and the media and provides examples of improving communication with believers and the audience, which contributes to the maintenance of spirituality and ethical values in the modern world. The work states that most dioceses in Ukraine have their own websites and printed publications that help popularize community life. The role and features of the formation of media content of the magazine «Nova Zorya» of the Ivano-Frankivsk Archdiocese of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, which is a powerful example of a printed and electronic publication of religious, spiritual and educational topics, were investigated. The all-Ukrainian printed publications «Dzerkalo Tyzhnia», «Den», «Vechirnii Kyiv», «Ukraina Moloda», «Uryadovy Kurier» and «Holos Ukrainy», etc. are analyzed.The article identifies the shortcomings of poor-quality religious journalism in the modern world.Recommendations have been formulated to improve the quality and responsible coverage of religious topics and for the work of specialists in the media sphere.
