EUROPEAN INTEGRATION OF UKRAINE IN THE CONTEXT OF THE WAR OF INDEPENDENCE

The article examines the specific features of Ukraine’s European integration process under conditions of a full-scale war for independence. It analyzes the evolution of the contractual and legal framework of cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union, ranging from the 1994 Partnership and Cooperation Agreement to the 2014 Association Agreement and the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area. The study identifies the key stages in the transformation of Ukraine’s European integration course after 2014, when the Revolution of Dignity and the armed aggression of the Russian Federation led to a qualitative shift in the nature of relations between Ukraine and the EU. Special attention is paid to the impact of the fullscale invasion in 2022 on accelerating integration processes, Ukraine’s institutional adaptation to EU law, and the transformation of the European Union itself as a geopolitical actor. It is substantiated that the war has acted both as a constraint and an accelerator of reforms, shaping a model of “crisis-driven European integration.” The article concludes that a new paradigm of integration is emerging, in which the security dimension becomes as significant as the economic and political ones
