The article researches on the issue of inter-art interaction in modern Ukrainian poetry using the examples of the texts of three authors. The attention is focused on the musical code, its functions in the literary texts of modern poets. This short study analyses the influence of music on literary creative work and how music participates in the construction of the identity of the literary / lyrical hero, the events surrounding him and how it interacts with the identity of the recipient through the medium of the literary text. The examples demonstrate the way musical signs and symbols are involved in the fabric of the literary text at its various levels, which, in turn, constitutes a "symphony" of interaction between the author and the reader. Still, important aspects are intermedial and intertextual components of the interaction of different artistic codes. In the process of encoding-decoding, the musical code expands the understanding of the poetic text, and sometimes - the extratextual field - through intertextual interaction, which is typical for modern literature, which was discovered during the current literary research. Moreover, an interesting one is the aspect of the analysis, how the musical code is involved in the construction of various types of identity of the literary / lyrical hero and its influence on the construction of literary images, especially lyrical heroes and topos, the process of how the cultural field of identity is sometimes constructed at the level of artistic details is separately outlined in a poetic text, often with the involvement of an imagological aspect, the way a musical code can become the condition for the creation of a binary oppositions. Special attention is also paid to the point how the musical code affects the creation of a rhythm on the mood of a poetic work. The material for research was the poetry collections of three famous modern Ukrainian poets: Dmytro Lazutkin ("Artery"), Vasyl Makhno ("Poet, Ocean and Fish: Selected Poems (1993–2018)"), Yuri Izdryk ("Collection").
